Supporting language development in children post COVID

The COVID-19 pandemic caused the world to stop for a time and meant that families had limited access to extended family, friends, childcare options & socialisation for their children. This continues to have a lasting impact on many areas of children’s development, particularly on their language skills. This session will look at and provide opportunities for discussions about what impact COVID-19 has had on children’s language development and how educators can support children’s emerging language skills through everyday interactions, routines and collaborative partnerships with families. Explore how to ensure inclusion for these children and where this fits within the EYLF and NQS.
