Wednesday 4th March
What is childhood trauma, and what does ‘safety’ really mean?
This is an introductory overview of how safety, relationships and trauma are connected, and what this means for children’s wellbeing and engagement in your service.
Wednesday 8th April
What sits underneath the surface of children’s confusing, disruptive and often time-consuming behaviours?
This session covers how children’s past experiences influence their current behaviour, and explores the use of visual mapping to see children’s underlying needs.
Wednesday 6th May
Learn ways to gather and organise children’s information and engage in intentional planning for trauma responsive strategies in your daily program.
This session will explore how and why relational strategies are the key to creating safety and engagement in learning.
Wednesday 10th June
How do we be advocates for every child’s right to have their voice heard and for it to influence decisions affecting them?
Learn why children’s rights and trauma responsiveness go hand-in-hand, and about child consultation processes to seek child feedback, regardless of ages, stage or capability.
