Playful Learning

Play provides a context and a process where children can ask questions, solve problems and engage in critical thinking. In this session, we reframe play-based learning and look at the educator’s role in playful learning. We will unpack exactly what play is and analyse the characteristics, stages and types of play. We will explore the play continuum, discuss adult led vs child led play, as well as look deeper at the important role of children’s agency in play.
