Responding to bullying and harassment for leaders
Through case studies, interactive activities, and clear guidance on risk management, leaders will learn to foster a respectful and inclusive work environment. The Session also equips you with the skills to handle complaints effectively, implement workplace policies, and minimise legal risks.
Some of the topics I would include are:
• the effects of bullying and harassment on the victim, the employees and services
• relevant legislation
• common types of harassment (e.g. racial, sexual, harassment on the grounds of sex) and hostile work environments
• what is workplace bullying?
• unintended bullying and harassment, and acceptable/unacceptable behaviour
• the 'reasonable person test'
• beyond the workplace (e.g. Social media)
• what constitutes reasonable management decisions
• dealing with sensitive issues and having difficult conversations
• employer responsibilities and reasonable employer steps
• preventing and managing bullying and harassment (identifying the risk, assessing the risk, controlling the risk)
• early intervention strategies
• developing policies and procedures
• managing incidents and complaints
